Project Nest Box Takes Flight!

Teaching students about the benefits of caring for the environment

Project Nest Box – School Nest Watch Program is a unique project that connects students with nature in a way that will instill in each student, a lifelong appreciation for nature. Championed by CleanRiver® CEO Bruce Buchan, the program is taking flight at local schools for students from kindergarten through grade 12.

Nest Boxes Constructed from 98% Post-Consumer Recycled Plastic

CleanRiver® produces the nest boxes by applying the same environmentally responsible processes that we use for all of the recycling and waste containers we manufacture. We use 98% post-consumer recycled plastic, which is not only good for the environment, but it is also far superior to its wooden counterparts as it will not swell, rot or require annual maintenance.

Each participating school will receive a donation from CleanRiver® of the nesting boxes to be placed on their school grounds. The boxes are delivered to the schools in kit form, complete with all the hardware required, ready for the students to assemble.

Project Next Box is now operating in 7 provinces and 13 states, with over 875 boxes in active use. We also specially designed and manufactured a one-of-a-kind larger bird house that has been installed on the grounds of the Pentagon.

CleanRiver®, a division of Midpoint International Inc. is proud to be a part of this distinctive environmental initiative! Pioneered by David Tomlinson of the Aurora Environmental Advisory Committee’s Naturalization and Wildlife Working Group, CleanRiver® is proud to partner with David and his group of dedicated volunteers; Bird Studies Canada; and the Royal Ontario Museum’s Ontario Nest Records Scheme, to bring this very worthwhile and educational program to schools across Canada and beyond.
